Matt has strong roots in New Brunswick, having lived here his entire life. Matt currently lives in Rothesay with his spouse Amy, daughters Chloé and Adeline, and their dog Charlie. Matt leads an active lifestyle and participates in many sports including downhill skiing, kayaking and biking. He is a big believer in community involvement and continually gives back through volunteering with various local organizations.
Matt graduated with honors from the University of New Brunswick in 2010 with his BBA degree in Finance and Accounting. During his time at UNB, Matt participated in an investment management program offered by the Centre for Financial Studies. This program provided comprehensive training of investment management techniques and allowed him to complete Level 1 of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) program.
Matt joined Grant Thornton LLP in 2010 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (now CPA) in 2012. He was named to the David Hope Honor Roll in recognition of outstanding academic performance. After three years in Auditing, Matt moved into Advisory Services where he provided business advisory and valuation services to small and medium-sized clients. In this role, he completed several courses of the Chartered Business Valuators program.
Since joining RBC Dominion Securities in early 2015, Matt has continued to further his knowledge by completing numerous Canadian Securities Institute courses, as well as earning his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation. Matt believes in continually upgrading his professional credentials to provide a superior level of service.
